As a Senior Mine Geologist, the applicant would assume a key role in Mine Geology and Ore Control program by assisting with open pit ore control procedures and geologic activities. The senior mine geologist provides ore blending and geological support for mill production and mine development. The senior geologist will work daily with the mill operations in this planning effort. This position will lead the production drill sampling program to ensure drill samples and logging are completed within the outlined program.
Supervising the logging of blast hole cuttings, maintaining data in an AcQuire database and MineSight is key for this role. Developing and implementing the daily ore blends from the open pit and several stockpiles is also key for success in this position. The ore types are complex and require daily attention to ensure the mill will perform to plan. Other duties include developing ore cuts, ore tracking, reconciliation, and geostatistical investigations.
Be able to integrate field data into a three-dimensional interpretation of a complex mineralized system. The field data collection includes high-wall mapping.
The incumbent is expected to perform strenuous physical activities in a wide variety of field conditions.
