We seek a technical expert, discipline lead, mentor and coach. This position requires onsite support with opportunities to work remotely depending on the scope of work. + Lead a team of technical staff to produce successful outcomes.
+ Serve as a technical lead with the ability to positively influence customers, suppliers, and managers.
+ Mentor and coordinate work for junior staff.
+ Latitude to determine work priorities based on general direction from Managers.
+ Supervise and direct surface and subsurface investigations that employ soil borings, test pits, well installations, well destructions, soil, groundwater, vapor sampling, aquifer testing, and surface geophysical surveys.
+ Conduct technical approach reviews to confirm the soundness of a technical approach, such as qualified staff are proposed, technical solutions appropriately address our client’s needs, and technical risks are identified along with an effective risk management strategy.
+ Deliver strategic solutions to complex problems with senior level assistance. Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums, analyze data and develop supported conclusions and recommendations.
+ Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate applicable project phases.
+ Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical approaches, and add value to client service offerings.
+ Evaluate and prepare proposed approaches, cost estimates and schedules for projects and programs.
+ Interact regularly with clients to expand work assignments or market new work. Market potential and existing clients, secure and manage clients and contracts.
+ Serve as a safety advocate.

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM’s global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals – to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
+ BS in geology or related field
+ 4 years of experience conducting site investigations and remediation of contaminated sites and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
+ Ability to work outdoors and lift up to 25 pounds
+ Must be US citizen
+ Must possess a valid driver’s license
+ Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
+ Project management experience
+ California Professional Geologist
+ Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training
